Actinomycosis usually differentiated into cervicofascial, thoracic, abdominal and other types of infection are in clinical surgery In the vast majority of cases of abdominal actinomycosis, the infection is secondary to perferative gastro-intestinal disesases, such as acute appendicitis colonic diverticulitis, peptic ulcer and acute ulcerative disease of the intestinal tract of after trauma.
This lesion is characterized by the formation of multiple abscesses, draining sinuses, abundant granulation tissue, and by the appearance of sulfur granules in the discharges of involved tissue.
This report describes a case of secondary actinomycosis of the ileum who, were successfully treated with resection of ileum after exploratory, laparatomy for liver laceration at Dept of surgery, college of Medicine Korea University.
